Pine Ridge School

Pine Ridge is a Surrey Community School and Nursery Class. It is a co-educational day school for children aged 4-7 years and has a Nursery Class for children 3 – 4 years old.
The School was opened in 1972 and consists of an Early Years area and two other teaching areas. The main hall is equipped with large P.E. apparatus and a servery from which lunchtime meals are served. We have a separate library where the children can develop their reading and library skills.
We are fortunate to have a Surrey Nursery Unit attached to the school for children 3 - 4 years old. It is one of the few local authority nurseries in the area and is very well equipped for both indoor and outdoor activities. It is staffed by a qualified Nursery Teacher and a Nursery Nurse.
Parents who may be considering sending their child to Pine Ridge Infant School are invited to contact us to make an appointment to visit the school when we shall be happy to show you round and answer any questions you may have.
Application has to be made by all parents who wish to send their child to the Infant School. At the appropriate time parents will be able to complete an application on-line.
A few weeks before the children are due to start in the infant school parents are invited to come to school to meet the Early Years Teacher, visit the class area, look at all the equipment and books and listen to an introductory talk by the Head Teacher. There is close liaison between the Nursery and the Early Years Class. During the summer term the Nursery children have the opportunity to visit the Early Years area and spend time with the Early Years Teacher.
Pine Ridge maintains a close relationship with the local Junior Schools, Cordwalles, Connaught, Hammond, The Watchetts, Ravenscote and Crawley Ridge, which makes for an easy move from Infant to Junior School. Members of staff from the local Junior Schools liaise with Pine Ridge staff regularly throughout the school year. The Junior School teachers visit Pine Ridge in the Summer Term. They meet the children who will be joining them from Year 2 and also talk to the Class Teacher.
